Recipe Tips
✔ Use a Microwave-Safe Mug – A 10 to 12-ounce mug gives the cake enough room to rise.
✔ Don’t Overmix – Stir until just combined for a tender texture.
✔ Microwave in Intervals – Start with 60 seconds and add more time in 10-second increments if needed.
✔ Let It Rest – The cake will be hot! Let it cool for a minute before digging in.

How To Make This Mug Cake Vegan
Most marble cake mixes are not vegan because they may contain milk, eggs or other animal-derived ingredients. However, some brands offer vegan-friendly cake mixes, or you can modify a standard mix to make it vegan.
1 Choose a Vegan Cake Mix – Some brands offer dairy-free and egg-free options, such as:
- Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake Mix (most varieties are dairy-free, but always check the label).
- Simple Mills Vanilla Cake Mix (made with almond flour and natural ingredients).
- Miss Jones Baking Co. Organic Vanilla Cake Mix (vegan-friendly and organic).
2 DIY a Marble Cake Mix – If you can’t find a vegan marble cake mix, buy a vegan vanilla cake mix and mix in 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder for the chocolate swirl.
3 Use Vegan-Friendly Add-Ins – The water and oil in your recipe are already vegan, so no changes are needed there!
