  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • 3 tablespoons chopped, peeled apple

Crumble Topping

  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In your mug, mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  • In a small bowl, mix the crumble topping ingredients—flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter—until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the cake batter in the mug.
  • Microwave on high for 60–90 seconds, or until the cake is set and the apples are tender. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave wattage.
  • Let it sit for a minute or two (it’ll be hot!). Optionally, top with whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
